The awesome purple_smurf has tons of 80s cartoon icons (http://lazarus.mimoza-mak.net/squared/eighties.html) and the second I saw that one, I was in flove.

Ooooh migod. I know. I was down with the She-Ra, seriously. I had ALL the toys. ... and the He-Man ones too. Also, I had a playset with a plastic sword, belt and crown. And all the little toy playsets too, like Crystal Castle and the Crystal Falls or whatever. And all the animals. And I used an Orko-shaped eraser for Orko because the He-Man toy version looked odd and was oversized.

...then I got into Jem.

I had the castle, She-Re, two He-Mans (one came with extra armor, I believe), the blue ice lady (so cool! I loved her thigh-high boots), the purple best friend, and the lady with the bird wings. And two of the horses, one of which was a clear purplish color and OMG so badass! My best friend/next door neighbor has like everything and it was awesome playing with her.

And yes, I had the sword and everything and used to run outside and be all "SHE-RA!!!"

JEM! Oh, Jem! I loved loved loved Jem! The dolls kinda sucked because they were like giants next to my barbies and couldn't share shoes. I had Rio and Jem, but my Rio broke (SOB) and Jem lost one of her hands. And because her eyes were all devil-pink, I ended making her TEH ULTIMATE villian for my barbies and yes, I had an over-active imagination. My room became a makeshift world for my toys and my Jem doll lorded over all as the evol villian.

But the Jem show? Oh, I loved it so much. SO MUCH. I had the tapes and everything!

The thing that pissed me off with the She-Ra and He-Man toys is that the last wave of each never came out in my region, so my collection was incomplete, and I was not yet ready to get over them. I became embittered by this.

But Jem ROCKED. I... had all of those too. *hangs head* The Barbie issue was a problem, though - I think that may have been much of the reason the product line failed, and thus killed the tv show. Alas.

Certainly makes sense. I mean...Jem's feet were HUGE man, she was like a kid's first intro to drag queens. Huh. She looked a bit like a dude in drag too.

OMG, Jem on dvd! If I wasn't scrapping all my money for insanely priced Farscape DVDs, I'd so be picking up a Jem dvd. That is nothing to be ashamed of.
