I watched the news yesterday very grimly and my heart still aches at the devastation. I'm not going to pretend to be an expert on Haiti; my high school best friend was Haitian but I'm still relatively unknowledgeable about Haiti. I lost contact with her after we graduated and right now all I can think about is how little I can do and how she and so many Haitian immigrants are desperately trying to find out if their loved ones are okay.

All I can do is worry and think how many people are in a desperate situation and how it's completely fucking awful.

I'd like to hope that in some little way, I can help. I'm not going to pretend that throwing some money will be a personal salve to my worries. I do this in the hopes that somewhere down the line, someone is helped but not in the belief that by doing this, I'm a Good Person.
