Thank you to everyone for the lovely cookie-gifts! My userinfo page looks so sparkly and delicious. ♥ I definitely need to send out more today to all those special folks on my flist, I adore you guys!

Now I'll stop myself before I get super mushy and teary-eyed because I'm pretty certain my tears would freeze in the icebox that likes to call itself my office.

Goddddd damn but do I have Lady Gaga's (featuring ~Beyonce~) Telephone stuck in my head. If I die of hypothermia, it will be a good way to go out.

Although I'd prefer my office to be HEATED on Mondays but I guess that's too much to ask of our office building. I stupidly dressed for Tuesday-Friday office heating, where it's boiling and only my 3/4 or half sleeves keep me from dying of heat. Now I'm wrapped up in my pashmina and my fingers are numb. Lame.

So this weekend was gloriously lazy which I approve of as I needed the sleep and recovery from a rather nasty workout on Thursday. Aaaaand I'm gonna do it all over again tonight. My plans are awesome. But! Let me marvel on the weekend: there was purchasing of a surprise!gift for my mom, a selfish book purchase of Robin McKinley's Sunshine, hanging out with [livejournal.com profile] ignited & [livejournal.com profile] memphis86.

When the weather got too craptastic for us (boo-urns to rainy days and I think everyone here knows how I feel about fucking SNOW, grrr), we headed back to zee apartment and enjoyed some Singin' in the Rain as Memphis had never seen it. The Broadway melody number continues to be such a WTF.

Then I mentioned my love of the Angry Video Game Nerd and we watched some of his videos, including a personal favorite of mine: his review of the Friday the 13th video game. Which is a horrible game but totally freaked me out with the creepy faceless kids and the awful music when I was a kid. (Never owned it, but my next door BFF's brother did and oh, I did not like to watch him play it. D:)

I might have to start embedding some of his videos to my lj to further hook people.

Ooh, he has several Christmas-themed episodes! And what better way to celebrate the holidays than to celebrate it with a little angry ranting about Shaq-Fu?

Bits of other: I'm rewatching Blackpool for some...reason I no longer remember but it must have been a very good one TENNANT. STILL haven't seen the latest Doctor Who. Totally delaying the inevitable. I'm on the fence about White Collar: I tried watching the pilot but I got to this point where I hit a wall and lost interest in watching further.

This is kind of a dilemma! I love Tim DeKay (JONESY) so much I am all hearts for eyes for him. It's kind of SAD but he was seriously my faaaaavorite on Carnivale. The lead guy Matthew Bomer isn't really doing anything for me. I KNOW. I'm broken in some way. So I ask you, flist: does the show get better in later episodes? I mean, I fucking love Burn Notice and that hooked me from the get-go and I thought White Collar would be in a similar sort of vein. So many of y'all seem to be having so much fun watching it so I'm hoping that it'll pick up.

Convince me, flist.

The boooooy with the thorn in his side.

Oh, David Tennant. Please wear more ill-fitting suits and constantly put things in your mouth.

YES, IT GETS BETTER.

For one thing, there's the EPIC bromance. They're each other's HUGEST fan, apparently. And they keep us guessing about Neal, about whether he'd betray Peter's trust - each episode, basically.

And the fall finale was amazingly GOOD. :D:D

Hee, you are very convincing! I'll at least finish off the pilot when I get home tonight. :D

I'm not a big fan of capers, and I don't see the slash or the OT3 that most of the others see, and the cases are pretty dumb, but I watch for Tim DeKay's faaaaaaaaace, and I find the show very satisfying in that respect.

Hmm. I am very interested in all manifestations of Tim DeKay's face.

OMG SUNSHINE. That book CONSUMED ME when I read it. It was one of the first times I put down a novel and said, Ok, WHERE'S THE FANFIC.

I zoomed through it yesterday but I'm going to give it a nice slow read this weekend. The writing's really lovely and I like the main character A LOT.

One weird thing for me is that I'd been told it didn't have any human/vampire romancing at all (which was a plus for me) but um, I was kind of LIED TO. It all worked fine in the book but I was a little o_0 when Rae and Con started getting...closer.

where's the fanfic? :-)

I've been in a state of flaily glee since White Collar premiered.

Whether you see the slash or the OT3ness or not, it's a fun show and there is much banter and fighting crime and the friendship between the two leads, and the Neal and Peter and Elizabeth interplay, is delightful to watch, expecially TIM DEKAY'S FAAACE. <3

I watched all of it! I love Tim DeKay. I'm kind of annoyed at the fall finale though! If it's a fakeout, then that's...hmm, annoying. But if it's REAL LIFE then I'm pissed at the "twist" ending.

I do like that Peter and Elizabeth seem to have a functional and satisfying marriage and that Elizabeth is getting her own shit done while he's off being Mr. FBI.

I liked the White Collar pilot a lot, didn't really care much about the 2nd episode, and the third slowly got better. IDK, maybe we're on the same wavelength here! ;) However, I'm up to the fifth and it's pretty good -- it definitely got better. So maybe leave it for a weekend marathon? Tim DeKay is AWESOME and he has some fantastic scenes later on.

I haven't seen Doctor Who since the last episode with Donna. I'm REALLY behind. :( I need to catch up.

ZOMG ANGRY VIDEO GAME NERD OF MY OWN HEART. <3_<3

I've just added you because I just found your fic. Wowza. You are quite the wordsmith! I don't really post much - so no need to add me back if you don't want to.

Hi!

It's really flattering and cool to know that you're enjoying my fic! Sadly I've been word-blocked like whoa which bums me out but hopefully I'll be able to turn it around. I hope you don't mind reading my rambles and general spazz-attacks.

Are you kidding? No - I know you are not but you have already written so much - it's going to take quite awhile to make my way through your stuff. You right great het too. I didn't realize how much I missed it til I read some of your stuff.
I am sorry you are word blocked - that doesn't seem to be fun for writers at all.
*hands you magic word-fu from the rockies*
Maybe that will help????
And as for spazz attacks? Perhaps that is why I don't really post much?

White Collar - I've seen them all (since I'm binging TV at the moment) and it really does not get better. I love the SATC guy (can't ever remember his name) so I'm mostly watching it for him (Bomer's sidekick). I liked Bomer in Chuck but I'm just not feeling him in this. That said, I like Tim DeKay a LOT and there does seem to be some sort of plot twist involving him coming on.

In any event, if you have nothing better to do, it's not horrible. That said, I sort of watch it after I've caught up on Bones, Castle, Fringe, House, Glee.. everything else I'm invested in at all.

Heh, it's funny that you call him the SATC guy. I call him Jonesy (due to Carnivale, obviously) but the first thing I ever saw him in was an episode of Cupid where he played a linguistics professor with a HUGE secret...he was from Souh Boston and had a super-heavy accent that he masked, oh noes! The best part was when he told the woman he was crushing on that she was "wicked awesome".

I'm kind of bothered by the fall finale of White Collar and I'm really MEH on the actress playing Kate which means the whole mystery bores me to tears.

Why do they not heat your building on a Monday? That's just cruel, especially in the winter!

Probably to save money! Bastards. The boilers are shut down on the weekend and it takes a full day for the building to get properly warm. BLAH.
