For my own records, my own little drabble. 100 words exact.



This is not about Alice's adventures in Wonderland or whatever you might think it is. These are Alice's nightmares, her fears. The drugs that do not give her sanity and the laughter she can still hear of a vanished Cat.

She will find her way out, she will. Alone if she must. If there's no exit, then what's the point?

Why is a raven like a writing desk?

Because they say it is so. She is not in a maze, then, she is back in an open meadow and she will be scolded at for daydreams.

Neat. I only have a basic edition of the Alice stories, but I do enjoy the imagery. And I lurrrrved the Disney movie. Because I'm such a Disney 'ho.

The Disney movie is fantastic (taraljc says she wishes she was a fly in the wall on that cast read-through, and I have to agree), but if you want to splurge on the Annotated Alice (get the definitive version (http://www.amazon.com/Annotated-Alice-Definitive-Lewis-Carroll/dp/0393048470)) it is well worth the price. I love it to pieces.

It's such a weird little story. Meant to be confusing. And I like that my icon isn't really fandom-based, it's more about what I guess my main theme is in all my storytelling: fantasy vs. reality and which one you'd really rather be living in. How to survive the fallout of not getting to live in the dream or how to surive living the madness of the dream.
