I am a genius with the subject headings. Next time it'll be "super-update-a-lious."

First of all major thanks and hugs to all. Y'all know who you are. I'd offer to send out cookies, but I don't bake. And with my luck, they'd probably get all crumbly by the time they got there.

Okay, so the situation at home, for those who've heard me bitch and complain, is better.

I'm currently working at a research company, doing phone surveys. Yes, that's EXACTLY as exciting how it sounds. Basically, I make tons of calls just to have people hang up on me or get stuck leaving messages and KNOWING that they ain't calling back.

Today I had an interview at a visual arts center. It was v. cool and I really liked the people there. The job sounds really interesting and very busy, and you know what? It's totally something I'm into.

It's a not-for-profit organization that promotes the arts, does film festivals, and offers tons of classes (like painting, ballet, drama, music, ceramics, etc). If, and this is a big "if," I got the job, I'd be working the "late shift" as a receptionist. It would be very intense, but I think I could do it.

I'll be hearing back from them later on this week. My fingers are crossed. This is something that isn't just wasting time, this is something I'd want to do for long-term. But I'll see what happens. I can do the 5-9 time slot fine, except for Mondays and Wednesdays, because my class gets out at 5:30 P.M. I'm hoping that they can overlook that problem because this is the sort of job that I could get excited about, that I'd actually want to do and not have to force myself to go to every day.

And in school news, I am dying! No, just kidding. That's me being all over-dramatic. I had a paper due today and on Sunday night, my damn computer froze and I lost what I had written. Pissed off at my computer, I decided the best revenge was to go to sleep. I had to write the paper during my break. I've already broken my promise to write my papers ahead of time.

Tomorrow I have an exam and on Thursday I have another paper due. I have two papers due next week. This is cruel. I just don't feel in the paper-writing groove yet, although I started work on the Oct. 2 paper tonight and considering how I'm almost always writing last-minute, this is rather excellent.

Oh, and by-the-fandom-by? (whispers) Don't tell, but I'm working on an O.C. fic. Slashy Seth/Ryan goodness with a punch of darkness. I'm still trying to kick up the darkness.

Just wait until the next update. Next time maybe there will be dancing ponies on a pin.

I've lost my damn mind.

Comment-a-paloozza!!

You're not the only one with the kickin' subject lines.

Yay! For O.C. fic! I'm the most non slashy person evah, but even I see those two.

Glad things are going well for you, and I'll keep my fingers crossed for you for that job. Sounds excellent.

Well, that'll be a "yay" once it's freakin' done. I'm sooooo blocked it's not even funny. Damn pretty boys. Damn them to hades!

I'll keep my fingers crossed for you for that job

Thanks! I'm trying not to get all worried about it since I haven't heard anything yet, but I'd really like to get it. It's something that I could do long-term and would you know, actually be in a field I'm interested in.

What a great job. It actually sounds really interesting, which is miles better than "fun" because believe me a "fun" job soon goes stale as I seem to have discovered this month.

Crossing my fingers for you too.

Oh no, what happened?

See, I've been told that this will be a busy, busy position, but it has a lot of interesting benefits. And I'm willing to do the work, because while I AM a slacker, I never slack off during *paid* work. I'm actually the sort that gets all worried when I have nothing to do, because I have a need to be doing *something.*

I teach a jive class and the Idea of being paid to dance was so exciting at first and a lot of fun. Recently though, it's an effort to plaster on the same old smile and say all the same things. See it was fun, but not necessarily "interesting", I don't learn anything new, I don't get challenged...

I definitely agree about being busy, I get fidgety at work otherwise, which is part of the problem with standing around watching everyone dance after the class! Anyway, lucky it's only a part time thing and good exercise!

Sounds like you're onto a winner there though, let us know if you get it...it's hard to type with crossed fingers *g*

You're allivvvveeee!!!!! *G*

The visual arts center sounds like a cool place to work. And different from all the other things you've done. Certainly more lively than phone surveys. I'll keep my fingers crossed for ya.

Procrastination is key to writing ingenious papers. It gets the adrenaline pumping and the neurons sparkin.

Doesn't hurt if you have a few cans of jolt and some no-doze as well. ;)

Am very glad things are better at home. Does this mean I can call your cell now? Or should I stick to the home phone?

Narbunny!

I'm sorry about last night, I got kicked off and I had to go over my grandparent's house with my two sisters to take MORE pictures, as the middle one just came back (she'd been hanging out with her bf, of course).

By the time I got back, it was too late and I was kinda tired. Sorry, bunny.

And hey, what did you think of Nip/Tuck last night? Very sad, man. And those heads creeped me out.

Procrastination is key to writing ingenious papers.

Nothing else to say but "word."

Ooh...because apparently I can't shut up, you can call my cell as long as it's after nine P.M.
