I have cooked far too much these last two days and now have an insane amount of leftovers. Basically, I foolishly made a ginormous pot of beer cheese soup (it's much healthier than you'd think, considering it's mostly vegetables) last night and like, my dad has one bowl of soup. Uh, okay then.

And tonight I made citrus chicken for my grandparents, dad, and myself and still have major leftovers. It's good in that I don't have to cook for the next couple of days, bad because we have no room in the fridge.

Which is really funny considering all the crap we have in the fridge isn't so much that one wants to eat it, more that everyone is too damn lazy to throw it out.

Yes, this is what I'm wasting a post on. Our fridge capacity.

To be honest, I'm fairly boring at the moment. My job is fine, but I feel odd talking about it, mostly because I just imagine a person's eyes glazing over.

Meanwhile, everyone is riveted by my discussion of leftovers.

Yes, I am awesome.

Oh, I saw House season 1 over the weekend thanks to the shiny DVDs and I have learned you can never figure out what ailment someone has until you seizure. And House is always right...the third or fourth time. And people LIE, dammit, they LIE like LIARS.

Fanfic recs, my peeps? I think I can do anything but House/Cameron (that pairing...had no chemistry at all). In fact, let's steer clear of Cameron. I wonder if there's Foreman gen. I know House/Wilson is popular (and the couple of jokes in that direction made me chuckle), but that's about it.

Now when I'll actually be able to read said stuff, depends on whether or not I'll be cleaning my fridge by the end of the week.

Also, I seriously need to see Brokeback Mountain, I have been putting it off WAY too much.

Mmmm, food. I'd be happy to take some of it off your hands, if I was even remotely nearby to do so. (I'd really love to taste some of your cooking, though. Maybe someday!)

I think House needs a subtitle, and that it should be "Lies and the Lying Liars Who Lie About Them." Because really.

But fanfic! Finally, a chance to make myself useful. Ta da! (http://www.squidge.org/housefanfiction/archive/quicksearch.html) All the really good stuff is there. If you're merely entertaining the notion of becoming a House/Wilson shipper, read this (http://www.squidge.org/housefanfiction/archive/0/blowthe.html). First House fic I ever read, and still my favorite.

There's also some stuff in my memories (http://www.livejournal.com/tools/memories.bml?user=cenori&keyword=Fanfiction:+House&filter=all) (horribly unorganized), most of it House/Wilson unless otherwise noted. (I'm obsessed, I'm not ashamed to admit it.)

I've also written a couple of things, but I'm not all that proud of them. They went over pretty well when I posted them, though.

(And there is Foreman gen, but not nearly enough. Maybe three fics that I've seen. He really needs more love. Everyone's all about Chase, 'cause he's pretty.)

I'll go back into my hole, now. ♥

Yes, someday you must try my cooking. :-)

I shall definitely be checking out the links over the weekend (when I have time, OMG).

I adore Foreman (I've reall only seen S1 though). Chase is pretty but I'm still annoyed with his bitchitude in Heavy. Also, because of years of Farscape watching, his voice annoys me, it's just a trifle too high-pitched. I keep on waiting for a Peacekeeper to storm in (please let it be Scorpius, House's long-lost BFF) and bitch slap him.

Now that would make an awesome crossover. (Kidding)

Foreman really is awesome. He gets a little bitchy in the second season, but it doesn't ruin his cool. And yes, I'll never forgive Chase for how he acted in Heavy. Asshole.

I'm not even familiar with Farscape, and I would read that crossover in a heartbeat. It would be a hell of a lot better than the junk people have been posting lately! (The bigger a fandom gets, the crappier.)

Haven't seen House yet. Maybe over the summer.

My last post was about Brokeback. It emotionally shattered me, it's that good (and painful).

I know your last post was - I behaved myself and didn't click on it.

I liked House - it's very episodic, 'regular' TV (except for the ep Three Stories) which is a little strange for me, considering most of my favorite shows are more saga driven (past: Farscape, current: Sopranos, Deadwood, etc.). There are some good eps but it's really all about the title character, he's the standout for the show.

Er . . . if you don't mind a little self-pimping (*winces*) I did write an HP/House crossover a little while back. Needles and Feathers. House/Lupin/Cuddy. Yes, really.

You can find it here:

I NEVER mind self-pimping. And I love Cuddy and I shall totally read it over the weekend.

Yes, you do need to see Brokeback. It's really really good.

Also filed under "good": you are formally ordered invited to join in my birthday celebrations in NYC the weekend of Feb 24-26. It's my 21st bithday this year! I won't technically be 21 til the 27th, but I have classes the 27th and 28th in TX, so. The weekend before it is. Not like anyone really cares whether I'm actually of age yet, right? :)

The movie is rather painful, the acting quite riveting. I think you'll like it.

Oh, I know I will. I loved the short story, I've just been putting off mostly because I haven't been in the mood to go out to the movies.
