*eyeroll*

Next week is the testing of my O RLY threshold. If I like next week's episode of Doctor Who, I'll be happy to forgot the Daleks Take in Mahattan storyline and I won't be found to randomly shout out, in a blind rage, all the things that made me ever so pissed.

Those who are enjoying it, bless you. I long to be counted among your ranks. Just not today.

The Director's Cut is up for next week's episode of Supernatural.

I've already informed several people that I probably will be a mess at aroudn 10:00pm on Thursday night, but that it is okay.

I may have bounced the dance of Won't Get Fooled Again joy of fucked up doom. Just a little.

And that is not a spoiler for the clip, by the way, at most it spoilers the previews that came out at the end of last week's episode. Just to let you know.

What did make you pissed? I'm curious. I wasn't pissed, but I was very meh. There was a lot of meh.

And yeah, Thursday = Monica crying forever.

Thursday night is going to *destroy me*. I will have to watch SPN first and then use the hotness that Smallville is going to be this week to cope with the OH GOD :"(( of SPN.

Let's just say that I can handwave a lot of things. But there was just too much stupid for me to handle. Like um, Solomon being the defacto leader of the Hooverville camp. Or that this episode ends with a "Yay Tallulah and Lazlo can live in Hooverville! It's the American Dream!"

*headdesk*

I dream of living in a shantytown full of disease, violence (and for women, likely rape).

Thursdays I wil be cry-dialing people.

Well, I think Solomon being the de facto leader has a lot to do with the differences between racial differences in Britain and in America. OTOH, I am much more inclined to believe in happy heart-warming fuzzy-inducing things than others might be. I like the fuzzies. And I think for Lazslo and Tallulah, they'd been expecting that they wouldn't be able to be together in any capacity, so they were super happy about being able to live in Hooverville. But yeah, I do see what you mean.

I don't think I'll even be coherent enough to cry-dial. I'm honestly expecting that this will be near "The Satan Pit" and "Doomsday" in terms of my incoherence level. Like, I will be bringing my teddy bear and a box of tissues with me when I sit down in front of the TV at 8:57 (so I don't miss anything, ha).

DEAN.

Already I am anticidreading this episode. Oh anticipation and dread, why do you go so well together?

Solomon being the leader wasn't even the kicker, that awful, awful speech he had to deliver really ruined any like I previously had for him. So much of the dialogue this week was shite. "They're more dangerous because they're more vunerable!"

*goggles*

There were several lines that had that stupid "but X is worse now because of Y!" that really rang false for me.

The worst episode crying-wise was Dog With Two Bones, which was the Farscape season three finale. It broke me. It was like, everything you ever wanted for Our Hero and then it was all taken away SEVERAL TIMES by violence, fate, and bad, horrible timing. I'm already tearing up just thinking about it.

I have to avoid thinking about DWTB or Promises or I end up sobbing like a loony baby. Gah, say I, Gah!

DW's 2-parter mostly bored and confused me. Shouldn't the Daleks, as implacable, almost invincible enemies, be used sparingly to maintain impact? It feels like they're popping up way too frequently in the past three seasons.

New Director's Cut for SPN, oh boy!

Promises doesn't break me as much, I think DWTB kills me because of "Don't worry about me, I've never felt better." I say back to thee, GAH!

It feels like they're popping up way too frequently in the past three seasons.

I've read that apparently they had to lease rights to use the Daleks and only had a three year contract. But that still doesn't excuse how stupid this 2-parter was. With the Dalek-Human hybrids that just caused me to roll my eyes so hardcore that Sam Winchester would say I'd taken my bitcface to the max. Because hello, that plan? The Dalek Emperor freaking did it in Bad Wolf/Parting of the Ways.

And his way was a hell of lot creepier.

Stupid Dalek/Human Hybrids.

New Director's Cut for SPN, oh boy!

Yes! I am going to be broken and I cannot wait!

Here via your spn review linked and then stalkery and then intrigued by your DW entry and then TOTALLY AGREEING WITH it, just had to say :)

it was SO MEH. I don't know WHY! but it WAS. for some reason the doctor's lines rubbed me the wrong way, and the plot did too, and just, everything. *sigh* gridlock though! THAT i LOVED.

The plot was really insulting in a way I haven't found any of the past episodes to be. Yes, I'm including The Long Game in there and my love/hate for Love and Monsters (most of the love there is Jackie). The stupid kind of burnt me. Plus, I''m from NY, so I was kind of majorly disgusted with how off so much of it.

("Yay, we get to live in Hooverville!" WTF?!!)

And you're always welcome at my lj!

I really didn't like the NY accents. maybe its because its a brit show, but did they get american actors for it, or are those brits pretending to be new yorkers? *is uneducated*

still though. human/daleks? happy hooverville? i didn't buy it. hopefully next week's would be better!

and hi, it's nice to meet you! heh. :D

Half of the actors were Americans and the rest were British. I think they really screwed up in the accents insofar if they wanted Tallulah to have a Wacky Voice, they could have easy solved that problem (of her sounding so different from the rest of the "NYers") - have everyone speak in '30s movie New York accents. They've very stylized and kind of fake but I'd accept that because at least it would be consistent.

Tallulah was played by a Brit.

Happy Hooverville was one of the most insulting things Doctor Who has ever presented in its current incarnation. Not to mention the sanitized race relations in America (my Puetro Rican great-grandfather sold apples in central park during the Depression for god's sake. It was not a happy time).

hi, it's nice to meet you! heh

Hee. Welcome.
