Reading a fanfic at the moment. It's in first person, which is usually tricky and it's during a specific time period, between the World Wars.
And then the woman orders a cosmo. If someone tells me that cosmos were all the rage in the 1930's, then it'll be okay. But the writer was doing an okay balance of historical facts and the medium, and just...argh.
