Yes, that is a direct quote, thank you very much. I almost don't want to give background, but I will, so that you are not left with the image of random bits of genitalia waylaid.

My professor in Art of Imperial Rome mentioned that to Romans, male genitalia was something of a good luck sign. So she explained that there would be crude renderings at intersections to prevent traffic accidents. Okay, there's your explanation. And you cannot hit me for the weird image now floating in your mind.

Happy birthday [livejournal.com profile] dovil!

...

OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG!!!!

Sorry. But OMG! You know all those files stuck on my computer that is now shipped off to be fixed? Well, I got them burned onto a CD at Best Buy, but I couldn't open any Word files on my home computer. But GUYS? I CAN OPEN IT AT SCHOOL!

OMG

[livejournal.com profile] ignited - your cracktastic genderfucking fic that I was writing for you is saved! HUZZAH!

I am so fucking excited. I'm going to be able to write again.

A line to tease:

Interesting fact: When Sirius is annoyed that his carefully plotted situation has gone awry, breasts lose power of persuasion.

*dancles like mad and not really because people will think I've gone round the bend*

You know what? I'm give out more because I'm that excited and OMG I have remembered that this is going to be a long story because I have eeeeevil ideas.

Pairing: Remus/Sirius, Remus/Lily
Type: Genderfuckery. Remus as a girl. Oh, don't worry, it'll make sense in the end.

*

“Yes,” she says, and she hides her smile, waving one of her hands across her face. “Look, I don’t know about labels, I have to deal with more than my fair share of them, but I’ve known Lily cared for James more than she’s ever admitted for a long time. Besides, I sometimes thought even if I were male, we’d have been nothing more than friends, deep down, in the end. But there’s no reason to think about that.”

“About your relationship with Lily?”

“No, about being male, Sirius,” she says pointedly. “I’m pretty sure my preferences as a male would be the same. Although perhaps I’d enjoy getting chocolate from you.”

A confused look crosses Sirius face and he blurts it out before he has a chance to process it, “You mean me sending chocolate to you if you were a bloke? That’s...insane. I may be mad, but I’m extraordinarily heterosexual. And if I wasn’t madly in love with you, I’d find a bird who fancied getting chocolates from her boyfriend!”

Remus has always been calm and self-assured, even when engaging in particularly exciting (and therefore, dangerous) acts. She prides herself on her self-control, emotional restraint, and the fact that even though she contends with two monthly cycles, she’s never been known for her outbursts.

This is a deviation from the norm, obviously.

“You are not my BLOODY BOYFRIEND, Sirius!” and yes, this is the first time she’s learned how high her voice can go, and that it doesn’t crack, ever.

TBC.

Dude, rock the fuck on.

Okay, I'm going to post two days worth of lovin' writers tonight and I am also going to smile like a moron because all my fic IS SAVED. Huzzah!

I am trapped at school. Oh NOES, SNOW! is the cry heard round the campus.

Evil, evil snow.

A weird thing was written on the chalkboard at my last class: Class canceled due to the wind.

So er, one of my classmates went to make sure the professor didn't cancel, and it turns out she didn't, which YAY because it's advanced poetry and I was anxious to see how I did on my sonnet. I am not good with the writing of supposed love poetry. And the mystery of that written statement will never be answered.

Turns out I did well, although I did get smacked down a bit for my diction, the professor wants us to write in a more contemporary tone, I tend to use more archiac and fancier language when writing poetry, it just feels more natural. So after I fixed a trochee and removed 'ere' (although I really, really liked using it), I have a pretty nice sonnet and if the posting board wasn't DOWN, I post my revision at our class board.

Sonnet of the Star Gazer )

Rhyming is incredibly hard for me, but the professor said these rhymes were good, which is great for me to hear, because I struggle with it almost as much as I do with writing iambic pentameter. I simply can't 'hear' the stresses properly, so I end up overstressing an unstressed word - I fucked up by going 'mistaked shadowed,' which creates two 'hard' sounds next to each other and fixed it by writing 'that shadows' and I couldn't figure out how memory scanned, so I actually changed the line incorrectly and after that was noticed in class, I fixed it by adding the 'and' to the line. I totally cribbed the idea of the poem from one of my fanfics. In this case, it was The Light Fantastic. Of course, the nature of the idea changed and became a much more strict Shakespearian-style sonnet. It's a discourse on the sky, but it's not as blissful and emotionally raw as the fic, it's more stately and resigned in sonnet form.

I changed my user info because I hated what I had up there. You can go here to check it out, and if you have the time, please do. I tried to be funny, interesting, and at least give some sort of honest bio of myself, even when I was lying.

By the by, my memories are at 69 entries. I almost don't want to add anymore because that's fucking funny.

I promised love of writers. I'm kicking it old school, in that, these are the people that shaped my earliest experience in writing fic, whether they know it or not.

For old, old, old school, I have to give it out to Harpy. Buffy's Diary is a work that not only stays with it, it changes you. It was written in the early days of BtVSdom, a journal written during S2 of BtVS, dealing with the Buffy/Angel relationship up until Suprise. Because we all know what happened after that. Harpy's the grand dame of Buffy/Angel, and there's a reason, her prose is descriptive and her smut is erotic and loving. I can read that one over and over again because it's damn good. And oh, when you get to that moment where Buffy's scribbling on an errant piece of paper, wondering where Angel is - heartbreaking. I don't quite think I'd think of fanfic as a true medium of expression until Harpy came along.

[livejournal.com profile] theantijoss can write a hot, porny story. Yes she can. I actually prefer the darker stuff, Bringing Him Back is a joy not only because of the yummy Buffy/Angel/Spike goodness, but because it's involving and it's complicated. Ducks was really the first major B/A writer I came across (on fanfic.net no less, when I was just breaking into reading fanfic). Ducks has done it all and her dark fluff or outright fluff is one enjoyable read.

And after I've had my heart all a-flutter, I go to [livejournal.com profile] jade_okelani. The Bittersweet Legacy is an incredibly complicated, lengthy, and completely evil fic and I mean that in the best of ways. She can write every character so wonderfully, which is rare and she's honest to all their relationships. I admire her a whole hell of lot for being able to write such epics and to write such beautiful, affecting prose.

Now I must go for I am being hassled.
